At STEM Footwear, we are NOT shoe people, and that's what it takes to come up with the shoe that mankind has been missing.  To everyone else shoe building has been a race for bigger, faster, and stronger, however, our approach is to take us back to the basics.  We include only the absolute necessities.

To design something truly right, you must start from scratch.  We had to throw out everything we ever learned about shoes and start from the beginning.  And so we started from our ROOTS.

We started by looking at the human body as the highly technical masterpiece that it is, and came up with the thing that would least interfere with its natural function.  Ultimately, our ancestors had the design right all along.  The foot is best covered by nothing more than a moccasin.  

From seed, to root, STEM Footwear was born.
