Natural Running: What is it?

Natural running is a term that describes running the way nature intended us to. We believe that humans are literally "born to run", which is exactly why we chose the name for our company.

Humans are perfectly designed for walking and running long distances. It is natural to us. In order to do this efficiently, our body uses a natural running form that can handle the potentially dangerous physical forces exerted on the body over a long period of time. This form includes running with a mid to forefoot strike, as well as a faster cadence with shorter strides.

Since the invention of "jogging" (heel strike running), running injuries have been on the rise. This is because runners have gotten away from their natural running form. "Jogging" might as well be called "Un-natural running". 

Re-learning natural running can start with running barefoot. Take off your shoes and do a quick run around your house. Notice how you don't land on your heels and how your knees bend more than if you were wearing heavier shoes and "jogging"?

This is the beginning of re-learning how to run naturally.
